I truly cannot believe it has taken me almost six months to get Nicole and Gerald’s amazing Block Island Wedding (at the fabulous Atlantic Inn) up on the blog.  Block Island never disappoints as an amazing location for friends and family to gather for an accessible yet other-worldly wedding locale.  The team at The Atlantic Inn put together a truly seamless and perfect wedding experience for Nicole and Gerald, from start to finish.  I highly recommend checking them out, if anyone is reading this post and looking for a BI venue — Brad & his team are total professionals.

Nicole and Gerald’s wedding day featured gorgeous blue sky weather at one of New England’s most beautiful locations, one of the best parties ever, and a bride and groom so in love and so so excited to finally be husband and wife (after nine years together!).  I felt so honored to be a part of N & G’s wedding day, spending those sacred and exhilarating hours with their family and friends was one of the highlights of my year.   And I could not have done with out the help of my wonderful second shooter that day, Caitrin.

Nicole and Gerald: I have mad love for you guys and I have been to a LOT of weddings, and very few were as gorgeous and rocking as yours ::smooches::

Enjoyed a beautiful sunrise session on Minot Beach in Scituate with this beautiful family. 5:15am never looked so good! And, honestly, for this gorgeous light, I’d gladly do more of these sessions – added bonus: going out for breakfast afterwards!

Thanks for looking so freaking good at the crack of dawn, Pischels. You guys are some of the very best.

First check out:  Part I {Getting Ready} & Part II {Portraits}

And now on the MAIN EVENT: the ceremony and reception!   The ceremony was supposed to be outside, in a beautiful pasture – but, again, weather got in the way.   Everyone made peace with it and moved the festivities indoors to the rustic barn space available at the venue (the beautiful Circle R in Flower Mound, TX).   And, trust me, no one cared whip about the rain once they ate some awesome comfort food (country fried chicken and mac’n’cheese at the buffet – woo!),  had a few drinks and hit the dance floor.   It was a heck of a party, and J + T’s friends and family did not hold back on busting out their sweet moves (the photographer may have even gotten in on the action even a little bit … shhh … don’t tell, but I’m a dance floor maniac even with my camera in tow).

These first couple images, are the bride’s father seeing her for the first time all dressed up in her bridal attire.  He was meeting up with her just before the ceremony to take their places so he could walk her down the aisle.   He cried, she cried and I cried.  What an incredibly special moment to bear witness to and be able to photograph, an absolute highlight of the day for me and, really, THE reason I love photographing weddings so much – those authentic, unscripted emotions mean so much, and its so so cool to capture them forever.

This one was just a quick shot we took of Jayme and Tommy, about 10 minutes before the ceremony, just separated by a wall – they didn’t actually see each other that day until Jayme walked down the aisle. ProschWedding-Blog-80_BlogStomp

And then THE MOMENT finally arrived, everyone was in their places, the doors at the back flung open and Jayme and her dad came down the aisle.  I love the look on Tommy’s face here, he held it together and didn’t quite let the tears flow, but the swell of emotion was so palpable and beautiful.

Now we’re onto the BIG PARTY!  Here is Jayme and Tommy’s first dance, followed by their cake cutting and TONS of amazing dance floor shots.

Be sure to check out Part I to see Jayme and her lovely bridesmaids getting all glammed up.   Now, moving on to the portraits from the day!  We were facing serious rain, but luckily we did get about 15 minutes or so to take some bridal party shots with Jayme and her ladies just before the rain started to pour down in buckets (we literally had to sprint for cover in the middle of a shot).   After that we were indoors or under the patio roof for the rest of our time taking photos.  It was a bummer, but as with any wedding day, you just have to roll with whatever happens, keep smiling and remember what’s really important (the food! No, wait, the marriage … ;)).    Jayme and Tommy did NOT want to see each other before the ceremony, so we had to keep them apart during many of these group wedding party shots.  It was a little tricky, but we made it work — the images you see towards the bottom of the post, with them together, are after the ceremony as official “husband and wife”! Photographing Jayme and Tommy’s wedding day was joyful beyond description.  What an honor!  Sure, the torrential rain put a bit of damper on some of our picture-taking plans, but it couldn’t diminish even a spec of their excitement and love that this day had finally arrived (J + T were high school sweethearts, y’all!).

I really want to be able to tell the full story of their day, so I’m going to perhaps “over share” and split this post into several parts.  Here now is the “getting ready” part of the day;  Jayme getting all dolled up and having a lot of laughs with her best friends, mother and other close family members (and yours truly, of course).  It was great to see how relaxed she was feeling, and just soaking and enjoying the whole process and the anticipation.  Jayme, you were a truly radiant bride and it went much deeper than just your immense outer beauty.    I love you tons! <3

I seriously can’t believe its been THREE YEARS since I last got together with Dawn and Sean for their maternity session.  The baby in that belly turned out to be sweet boy Max, who is now nearly three years old and is about to welcome a new brother or sister.   It was so much fun to see these guys again and spend some time photographing them for a family and maternity session on Minot Beach in Scituate.   We were treated to pretty great weather, and it was JUST warm enough to get away with short sleeves and bare feet on that sand at sunset.  Thanks so much, M. family, for letting me capture these images for you and being such delightful clients/friends.  I’m so excited for you to welcome your new addition and hope it won’t be too long before I can get him or her in front of my lens as well. Xoxo.

Cassie and Ben are a laid-back, super-fun couple and I have so enjoyed getting to know them over the past year since I first met with Cassie about photographing their wedding.

Well, May 2nd, 2015, finally rolled around and I was so freaking excited to be there with them and taking photographs for them on their wedding day in Plymouth, Massachusetts.  I started the day at the John Carver Inn while Cassie and all her best gals got ready to go, then we headed down to the sunny, but quite chilly, ceremony at the lovely Brewster Gardens, and then on over to the Plymouth Yacht Club for the big party.  The whole event was all about dear family, great music, wild dancing and good old fashioned L-O-V-E.  I felt so honored to be there and immersed in the whole scene as I took it in through my lens.    Here is just a tiny peak (and yet quite a few photos for a blog post!) into Cassie and Ben’s wedding day.

Cassie and Ben, I have mad love for you guys and your kick-ass, perfectly-planned day.  I have no doubt your marriage will be as beautiful as your wedding.  Xoxo, Christina.
